April 27, 2013 - Spring Prayer & Clean up

Prayer focus for April 27-May 3, 2013
This week's church prayer is for:
First General Baptist of Waterford
2933 Frembes Rd.

Out with the old & dead and in with the new & living!

Clean up is a slow process. It doesn’t always go as quick as we want, but we are always making progress as long as we don’t give up.  Sometimes we have to get dirty, sometimes we might get tired, sometimes we might get injured if we don’t take proper precautions.  But as we persevere the dead stuff gets removed making way for the soil to be prepared.

We can clean out the old stuff but if the soil remains hard then no seeds can be planted, no new life will grow.  But once the soil is softened then seed can be planted and new life will grow!  New life that becomes fruitful!  It’s all worth it to bring the new life and fresh growth.  We just have to keep from becoming discouraged, thinking that our efforts, our prayers, our hard work and perseverance is not worth it.

We also need to remember that it’s not about outward appearance—things just looking like they’re cleaned up when deep inside there is no life.  It’s about real life, eternal life, sincere change, growth and fruit.

It may be slow and we may need to take one battle at a time, but it’s not done in our own strength anyway.  We are strong in Him and in the power of His might.  Our own persistence in prayer and dedication to following the Lord, although necessary, won’t accomplish anything without God making it all happen.

Be encouraged and know that every prayer, every act of obedience to the Lord, every time you choose Him over the easy way and wide gate, He sees and smiles on you, and you are making a difference!

April 20, 2013- Parental Anointing

Prayer focus for April 20-26, 2013
This week's church prayer is for:
First Church of the Brethren
5064 Hatchery

Father God protect our children from ungodly images—from media that promotes things that are contrary to You and Your ways.  I pray that You release a parental anointing.  Forgive us for neglecting our children and not having respect for our position as parents.  Let the hearts of the parents turn back to the children and the children to the parents.  Let there be a release of books, literature, media, conferences, instruction and an honoring of the parental position into Your people and our culture.  Let us take seriously our commission to teach our children the Word of God.

Forgive us as parents and teachers who set our sights on other things and began to view other things as more valuable than being a parent or a teacher.  Re-ignite the children's ministry workers calling and anointing.  Come again Holy Spirit and stir us once again to be passionate towards our children.  Stir us to honor parents from the time a child is conceived.  Forgive us for not respecting and honoring the bodies You have given us.  The temple not made with hands,   Let those who value life—who are pro-life—use the energy and zeal in a renewed focus, with vision and passion to reach the children we do have, the ones who have been born.  The babies, toddlers, pre-schoolers, young children and teen, and the parents—let them put prayers, energy, time, money, resources and passion into these young children and into parents—helping them and honoring them.

Let us all honor all fathers and mothers that we, as a people, may live long on the earth.  Let us return to the Book.  Let it be our guide.  Let it be what we teach our children.  Let the foundation of the Word of God be strong in this generation.

April 13, 2013--Speak and Declare!

Prayer focus for April 13-19, 2013This week's church prayer is for:
Fellowship Baptist
6905 Roby Ln.
Father God I pray each Christian in every Waterford neighborhood begin to make declarations over their neighborhood.  Declarations from the Word of God, about the revelation of Jesus Christ, about the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ shining in their neighbors hearts, for veils to be removed, blinders to go from the minds and hearts of their neighbors.  Christians, rise up and pray and declare and release the power of the Holy Spirit into your neighborhoods!  Speak the life of God over your neighbors!
Let the churches do the same in the neighborhoods around them—speak, declare and pray the Word of God and Holy Spirit inspired prayers.
Let there be a woven network of the anointing of the Spirit, the Christian fabric of the Township becoming strong.  Let us understand the power and authority You have given to us—the dominion we have over the areas You have placed us in.

April 6, 2013- God Always First

Prayer focus for April 6-12, 2013
This week's church prayer is for:
Faith Community Church
2274 Crescent Lake Rd

God I  pray that we always love You first above all.  That in our effort to show Your love to others we do not compromise our love for You.  That we always love what You love and hate what You hate.  That we don’t want to please other people more than we want to please You.  That we don’t fear people more than we fear You.  May we always remember the two commandments Jesus gave, the first one being to love You with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.  May we not compromise because of fear of people.

Father God, I thank You for all of the good things You bless us with.  I pray that the energy and wealth of Waterford be captured and used for You.  That it be directed for Your purposes, for righteous purposes, those things that will bring life and health to the township.  Thank You for all of Your blessings.  May we always appreciate everything You give us and not be afraid to receive good things from You, but direct the wealth of this region into Your kingdom.

March 30, 2013 - Spiritual Infrastructures

Prayer focus for March 30-April 5, 2013
This week's church prayer is for:
Faith Church
3411 Airport Rd

Father God, once again I pray for the safety of the infrastructures in Waterford.  I pray for Your grace, favor, mercy and blessings upon this land.  I also pray for the spiritual infrastructures.  I pray that each church takes its proper place in the body of Christ.  That You speak clearly to each church and renew the vision that You have called them to.  Let us lay aside our own plans and pursuits and abandon them for Your will.  Let us seek You with our whole heart and desire to honor You, worship You above all else.

God I pray for a passion towards You to overtake all of Your people in Waterford.  I pray that we lay aside the sin and every weight which gets us off balance.  God let us surrender everything for You!

I pray there be no competition or jealousies between the churches and various denominations within the Township.  I pray we realize that as each one takes their place we will together make a beautiful building for You!  Let Your people arise in their gifts.  Let the creativity flow.  Let Your Spirit and anointing be poured out upon all.  Have Your way O God, let Your kingdom come, let Your will be done!

I pray that tomorrow morning, on Easter Sunday, Your beautiful grace and presence be in every church, drawing people closer to You.  Plant seeds in every heart, let them be nurtured and grow into a beautiful garden in Your kingdom.  Awaken the people to Your call on their lives and strengthen them, pour out Your Spirit on them, giving them courage to follow You whole-heartedly!

March 23, 2013-Turning from the false hopes of mirages

Prayer focus for March 23-29, 2013
This week's church prayer is for:
Elizabeth Lake Church of Christ
183 S. Winding

Will you set your eyes upon wealth, when suddenly it is gone?  For riches certainly make
themselves wings, like an eagle that flies toward the heavens.  Proverbs 23:5 Amplified Bible

Father God, I pray we do not follow a mirage.
Let us not follow worthless pursuits,—things that do nothing but give us false hopes.
Things that turn out to be nothing, wasting our time and energy,
leaving us empty and confused.

If you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.  James 1:25 NLT

Let us instead follow Your Word.
A stable, solid rock of truth.
Reflecting Your image
Empowering us with life and hope that is fulfilled,
Faith that is of substance and everlasting love.

He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and he will cause those who are
rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly.  Luke 1:17, NLT

Let us value all life—our children, the unborn, but not just the unborn,
those who are born as well.
Let us not despise them,
neglect them,
or abuse them.
Restore our love for our children and families.

The way of the righteous is plain an raised like a highway, Proverbs 15:19 Amplified Bible

Let us be prepared for the future
By seeking You and Your ways
Let us not look for a crisis
But look for Your shelter and protection
Fill us with Your wisdom
Guide us in every decision
Orchestrate our lives.

March 16, 2013 - Master Builder

Prayer focus for March 16-22, 2013
This week's church prayer is for:
Community Presbyterian Church
4301 Monroe

Abraham "looked for a city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God."  Hebrews 11:10.

God is in the city building business!

Father God, I pray You build the foundations of Waterford according to Your own plan and design.  Be the Master Builder and Architect of Waterford Township.  Make the foundations strong and secure.  Let us be a place where You are pleased to come and dwell.  Let it be lit with Your light and glory.  Let the schools and churches be filled with Your presence.  Let the message and revelation of Jesus go out and confirm Your Word with signs following.  Help us to stay on the path You've put us on and not wander off of it.

Mark 16:20
