February 23, 2013 - Interrupted

Prayer focus for February 23-March 1, 2013
This week's church prayer is for:
Church of Christ
3295 Shaddick

Father God, once again, I pray for all the churches in Waterford.  I pray for all of Your people.  That we be interrupted from just going about our daily lives not thinking about You, not seeking You or your ways and plans for us.  Let us stop what we are doing and take time to seek Your face!

Even if we have to fast to interrupt our appetites.  If we need to detox our bodies, our words, our spending habits help us to do it.  Let us remember Your Sabbath.  Let us stop doing our own works and do Yours instead.

I pray for all of the pastors and leaders in Waterford and in our churches.  Once again that You place everyone in proper position.  Rearrange.  I pray for children and youth pastors as well.  For nursery workers, for worship leaders and worshippers.  For prayer leaders and intercessors.  That everyone be in their proper place and position.  That every one be awakened to Your call for them to fulfill Your plan and purpose in their life.

I pray that a spirit of antichrist that would try to influence the church and your people come to nothing.  1 John 2:18-19 says that many antichrists went out from the church--began there, but left so it would be evident they were not of the believers.  Let it be revealed and clear what comes from Your Spirit of Truth and what does not.  Let the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ shine in the hearts of Waterford revealing Your love and Truth. 2 Corinthians 4:3-6.  Let the church be places where life, healing, health and restoration can be found.  Let the tree of life be at each church!

Lord God, break up the hard ground of our hearts so we may receive You and Your Word deep where it can take root and grow and change us into Your glorious image!

February 16, 2013 - Peace

Prayer focus for February 16-February 22, 2013
This week's church prayer is for:
Christ Lutheran Church
5987 Williams Lake Rd.

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world gives, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
John 14:27

Lord I thank You for Your peace that You have left with us.  I pray this peace floods through Waterford and beyond.  Let Your people receive Your true, inner peace.  Not just a temporary settling down, but a true inner resolution of all that would trouble us.

Let Waterford make peace with You.  Let Oakland County, Michigan and the United States of America make peace with You.

I felt the Lord doesn't want us to just "settle for" certain things or just "tolerate" our lives, but that He wants us to experience His true peace where we have resolution to things that would try and spring up any type of agitation.

I also felt He wants His people to let regrets go.  And to realize the significance of every good thing you do.  They are not going unnoticed by your Heavenly Father!  He sees every prayer, every sacrifice and every hard thing you do when you choose His ways.  He sees it all.  Don't let any regrets from the past hold you back from going forward in Him.

I also pray that Christ Lutheran Church experiences and fulfills their mission statement which is to "share the love of God as made known in Jesus Christ and to be transformed by that love."  I pray this church and all of Waterford's Christians experience the transforming love of Jesus as well.

This past week I put up an article about the ten-year tenure the Lord has put on my heart for prayforwaterfordmichigan.  You can read it here, TenYearTenure , or by going to the "Why Pray" page and scrolling down to the bottom.

February 9, 2013 - Reveal the Ancient Landmarks

Prayer focus for February 9-February15, 2013
This week's church prayer is for:
Central United Methodist Church
3882 Highland Rd.

"And they shall rebuild the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former desolations and renew the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations."  Isaiah 61:4

Father God I pray for Your "ancient" plans and purposes for this township to be rebuilt.  The ancient ruins--the original purposes that were started but were lost.  Let this plot of land return to You for Your kingdom.  Raise up those things that were neglected or destroyed that are a part of Your plans and intents for Waterford.

"Remove not the ancient landmark which your fathers have set up."  Proverbs 22:28

Father God I pray You reveal the ancient landmarks--the things that will show us Your "ancient" plans for this township, our families, churches and businesses.  Show us those things that You've revealed to others in the past about this land that have been lost.  Let us recover and restore those things. Open our eyes to these landmarks so we can see Your purposes!

Let all of the churches, pastors, leaders and those in positions of influence be placed in proper position.  Rearrange them so they are in the place You've called them to be.  Raise up and position those who need to be in positions of leadership and influence and place them where they need to be.

Let the ancient landmarks in our families--the generations before us--be revealed.  Show us the calling of our ancestors that You still have upon our lives today.  Show us Your plans and intent for our individual plots of land-our homes.  Move and rearrange residents.  Call those here that need to be here.  Move those out that are called to be somewhere else.  Let us fulfill Your purpose in our lives and for this land and this region.

Re-connect us to our land--the earth--the city or town that You've called us to.  Just as before the coming of the Lord the first time everyone was called to return to their "own city",* so return us to the place You've called us to.  Resurrect the roots!  Reveal the ancient landmarks!

February 2, 2013-Inoculated with the Spirit

Prayer focus for the week of February 2-8, 2013
The church we are praying for this week is:
Bethel United Church of Christ
6650 Elizabeth Lake Rd

John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus, bringing people to a place of repentance to make ready a people for the coming of the Lord.  John came in the spirit and power of Elijah.
Elijah was a man just like us but he prayed earnestly... Elijah performed many miracles.

Father God, help us to live by the power of Your Holy Spirit so that we can prepare the way for Your coming.  Help us to pray earnestly for Your will to be done in the earth.  Inoculate us with the vaccine of Your Holy Spirit that we may be protected from the evil schemes of the enemy.  Let the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus make us free from the law of sin and death.  Let the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwell in us to quicken our mortal bodies.

Teach us Your ways O God!  Show us how to pray, to live and move filled with Your Spirit to a greater measure so we can prepare the way for You.
