When the sun rises, and the dawn comes, the light dispels the darkness. When the light first begins to break the horizon, things look gray. They may seem a little distorted. There might be confusion and misinterpretation.
People who have been asleep might oppose the light and be annoyed by it. The sleep, the foggy brain, and the distortion of the gray light might cause confusion and unclear vision until the light fully arises. We pray for the dawn to come to Waterford. For the Son to arise, and continue to rise until there is full light.
An alarm clock is annoying at first. People might oppose the alarm when they first hear it because they don't want to wake up. They might not want to face the day. But once they are fully awake, they can live life to the fullest. We pray for the light to arise, the alarm to sound, and people to wake up!
2 Peter 1:16-21
16 For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, “This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased”— 18 and we ourselves heard this utterance made from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.19 So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. 20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, 21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
We have the prophetic word made more sure. We must pay attention to it, as a lamp shining in a dark place and until the morning star arises in our hearts.
We must pay attention to the prophetic word of God, for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. (Rev. 19:10). It's all about Jesus. It all comes down to Him. It's all rooted in Him and springs from Him. These words give light--as a lamp shining in a dark place. The psalmist said that the word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105).
We must pay attention as the light rises and illuminates us more clearly. We pay attention until the day dawns and the morning star--Jesus--arises in our heart. Jesus, rise higher and higher! There's a higher level of light the Lord is calling us to. Don't stop with the level of light you're in. Don't settle for a little darkness. Pursue the full light--high noon--the full light of the day.
Lord, let the light arise, the word and message of Jesus Christ be heard throughout the township. Let it be heard with an alarm so people will wake up and hear. Let there be light! Let the day dawn! Let the morningstar arise as high as possible for both believers and unbelievers. Let the morningstar dawn. Jesus is the morningstar (Revelation 22:16). Rise in the hearts of the people!
The prophetic word that goes out is the testimony of Jesus. The words Your people speak is all about Jesus. This is the more sure word--He is made more sure. We do not tire of You. We want Your word. We want to know You more through it. Reveal Yourself more and more in us, to us, and through us.
It's all about You.
Let the gray areas be dispelled. The areas where Your people have settled for a lower level of light. Let them begin to understand, to hear, and to see that there is more. There is a higher level of illumination. Let them hunger and thirst after that. To long and crave for that. They want a higher level of light and You--the morningstar to rise in their heart.
Let there be light! Let the day dawn over Waterford! Let the people see. Let the alarm sound. Let them wake up and see the dawn--see the light arising.
The lesser light rules the night. Lord, we thank You for providing light in the dark times, but we want the light of Your Son to shine in our hearts and the hearts of unbelievers. (2 Corinthians 4:4).
We want to grow into a greater light of Your glory. We don't care that we've heard these things before. We want to see Jesus in all His glory so we can be transformed into that same image. From glory to glory to glory to glory. We behold as in a mirror the glory of the Lord and are changed into that same image. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
We have the hope of seeing Him, and being like Him when we see Him. This hope purifies us and brings us into righteousness. We long for righteousness with You. (1 John 3:3). We pray for this longing and desire to occur throughout Waterford, Oakland County, Michigan, the nation and world.
Let the desire for righteousness dawn in the hearts of the people. That they desire light. For those who have opposed it, and have seen with distortion, we ask for mercy and grace so the Son doesn't stop rising, but the day continues. We pray the blinders are removed. That they look for the light, get out into the light of the Son. (2 Corinthians 4:4).
We see through a glass darkly, but then we will see face to face. Now we know in part but then we'll know fully, even as we are known fully. We don't look at what is seen, but what is not seen. What is seen is temporary. What is seen is eternal. (2 Corinthians 3:14). We pray that people understand its a spiritual light that will wake them. We pray that they begin to desire and long for the spiritual light. Not for the physical light. Not to be "enlightened" in the worldly things of this earth, but the desire for the spiritual light. This light is the truth. This light is true life. This light is the way.
8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part; 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. 13 But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.
When we're a child, we only see dimly. We only know in part. There is a full maturity, a full light the Lord is bringing us to. We will know even as we are known. We won't see though a dim light, but face to face. When we see Him face to face, beholding Him as He is, and hope for the same righteousness in us, we change from glory to glory.
Don't be content to stay in a childlike state. There is more! There is more! There's more light you can come into. There is light, there is hope. Lord, bring them to Your hope and Your light. There is a greater light, and a greater hope. Look to the Son's light, the dawn, not just the moon in the dark places. So you can clearly see and accurately judge. The place of maturity is a place of love.
Thank You Father, for Your word brings a revelation of light--illumination so we can more fully understand Your ways. We pursue this light and this greater level of illumination. We open our eyes. We open our hearts to see. Our pupils are looking for the light--growing--searching for the light.
We won't settle for partial light. We won't allow partial darkness. As You separated the darkness from the light at creation, we do that in our hearts now! We won't allow ourselves to be bitter, resentful, or have any darkness, even partial darkness. We want the full light, Your full love.
We want the true light. The artificial light stays on until the sun fully arises. We want enough light so the artificial light goes out. We don't want a false light--we want Your true light.
As you live this out in your own life, you do battle. You are occupying the land. You are occupying the portion of land God has given you when you walk in the light of what He's shown you. Living this out in your life brings a victory in the spirit. But pray and proclaim it for others too.
