Prayer focus for November 24-December 1, 2012
God I pray that we learn to seek You for Your plans for our life and that we seek to build Your kingdom and not our own. That we don't just ask You to bless our plans, our ideas, our own kingdom that we think we need to build, but that we go after Your ways and plans for our lives.
Proverbs 3:6: In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.
In every path-our family, our job, our church etc. let us seek Your wisdom, Your love, Your truth, Your guidance and direction. I pray the kids get a hold of this too and begin to seek Your ways in every path of theirs.
Romans 8:28: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.
Everything is working together for good--no matter who was elected to various offices in the election--God will make everything work together for the good of His kingdom. We need to join with Him in working to build His kingdom. God help us to prioritize our lives according to Your will. Just as David received the plans for the temple from the Spirit of God, let us receive the plans for our temple--our lives--our hearts where You live--from Your Spirit.
Jesus said the Kingdom of God is within you. .(Luke 17:21). Let us look to the Spirit of God within us. God help us not to work to build the image we have in our mind, our own plans of what our life should be. But let us look to You, to Your Holy Spirit within us and prioritize our lives in such a way that we are building according to Your plans.
Psalms 127:1: Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it...
Let's quit wasting time doing our own thing! Let His kingdom come, let His will be done, in earth as it is in Heaven! Matthew 6:10.

November 17, 2012 - High Praises/Two Edged Sword
Prayer focus for the week of Nov. 17-Nov. 23, 2012
Psalm 149:
Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, praise Him in the assembly of His saints! Let Israel rejoice in Him, their Maker; let Zion's children triumph and be joyful in their King! Let them praise His name in chorus and choir and with the [single or group] dance; let them sing praises to Him with the tambourine and lyre! For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation and adorn the wretched with victory. Let the saints be joyful in the glory and beauty [which God confers upon them]; let them sing for joy upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their throats and a two-edged sword in their hands, To wreak venegeance upon the nations and chastisement upon the peoples, To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron, To execute upon them the judgment written. He [the Lord] is the honor of all His saints. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!) The Amplified Bible.
The twoedged sword is the Word of God, (Rev 1:16, Hebrews 4:12). God is calling His people to be armed with His Word in an attitude of worship and praise towards Him.
I pray the people of God rise up and praise Him, armed with His Word, knowing their authority given in the Name of Jesus. That we be wise as serpents and harmless ad doves. That lawlessness goes from Waterford and revival takes its place.
God is defending His people. There will be a judgment on those who are not His people, on those who refuse His ways. It's time we get as close to Him as we can, under His shadow of protection. I pray that God's people begin to say that He is their Lord, their refuge, their fortress, their God and in Him will they trust! (Psalm 91:2). As they do He will protect and deliver them!
The vengeance, chastisement, binding and judgment are for those who are rejecting the Lord. Deliverance and protection are for those who call Him Lord and God. Those who call Him their Protector. God, let us be clear in our choice to follow You in all we do. That there be no misunderstanding whose side we are on. Let your people follow You whole-heartedly with passion! Let Waterford rise up and be known as a place of refuge, a place where Your people reside. A place where evil does not befall us and no plague comes near our dwellings. Thank You Father for Your protection and deliverance!

November 10, 2012 - Wisdom for Leaders / Police Dept.
Prayer focus for the week of November 10-16, 2012
I pray for the newly elected leaders of Waterford, and all the leaders of the county, the state and the country. For all of their staff and advisors as well. I pray for wisdom and truth. That they seek God's wisdom and truth. That their hearts turn towards the Lord. That they work to build the kingdom of God and not a kingdom for themselves. I pray they are touched by the Spirit of God, drawn to Him and that their eyes are opened, their ears unblocked and their hearts unveiled so they may clearly see the Way, the Truth and the Life and that they follow Him in every decision they make.
We have a new Township Supervisor now, Gary Wall, and he has said that the first item on his agenda is the police and fire department. I pray he clearly see God's solution in this area. We desperately need to pray for our police department. There has been a downward spiral going on for a while now. They haven't been able to get a police millage passed in quite a long time. Some of this may be because of economic reasons but some of this might be because the relationship between the police department and the residents hasn't been as good as it could be. The police now have to serve and protect the very ones that have voted against giving them the resources they need to do their job well. This could very well leave a bitter taste in their mouth and this is not the first time this has happened. We need to pray that the residents recognize this and become able and willing to support the department, and that the department resolve to do their best with what they have and not become, (or remain), bitter against the people. Jesus had to die for the very ones that were crucifying Him and this is the position our police officers are in now. In addition to our prayers, any way we can show them our support would help to re-build this relationship and do away with an "us vs them" attitude on both sides.

November 3, 2012 -Our Refuge & King
Prayer focus for November 3-10, 2012
I've felt impressed to pray for the safety and protection of the infrastructure of the Township, specifically the water and natural gas systems. I also think each family, church etc. should look at their own "infrastructure" and think about back-up plans in times of emergency.
I pray Psalms 91 over the Township--that we dwell in the secret place of the Most High so we can abide under the shadow of the Almighty. That we say of the Lord, He is my refuge and fortress, my God, and in Him will I trust. I thank God for His protection. That because we set our love upon Him He delivers us, sets us on high--in the safe place. That He is with us, delivers us and even honors us. That He satisfy's us with long life and shows us His salvation.
I also pray that the people of the Township don't compare or identify with the cities and townships around us. That we don't look to those who seem to be wealthier and look down on ourselves. That we don't look to those who seem to be troubled and identify with them. Just as the Israelites looked to the nations around them who had kings and decided they wanted a king instead of God's way, I pray that we don't look to the communities around us to identify with or judge ourselves by. (1 Samuel 8). God has a plan for this community. I pray we discover the wealth of this land He's placed us in--the gifts and talents and hidden secrets of Waterford that make us unique. Not so we can be arrogant, but so that we can fulfill the purpose of this land and our own individual God-given purpose.
I also pray that there is truth, peace and faith over the next several days leading up to the election. That the heaven's are opened over our community so God's people can clearly see how to vote, and that they DO vote.
