Prayer focus for June 30-July 6, 2012
God, let Your people be as the strolling minstrels who declared the praises of their king! Let all of Your people in Waterford declare Your praises and goodness by their lifestyles, actions and words!
Revelation 12:11 says that they overcame the accuser by the blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony and they did not love their lives unto death, (they didn't compromise their faith to save their own life).
When the accuser comes to deceive Your people, trying to get them to sin, and when he comes to accuse, criticize and blame Your people, let them rise up and overcome, bringing glory to You!
Thanks be to God, who always causes us to triumph in Christ and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God through us everywhere! (2 Corinthians 2:14). This verse goes on to say that God's people are a sweet aroma of Christ. But to some it smells of death and to others it smells of life. To those who receive this fragrance of Christ it brings life and to those who reject it, it brings doom. In either case, let us smell of your fragrance. Let us declare Your praises, goodness and attributes!
Let us live each day with purpose. Let us pray for, earnestly seek, long for and expect Your presence to be evident in our lives every day. Let us not be complacent or expect today to be uneventful in You.
May we resolve to seek You early every day and receive Your guidance and direction for our daily path.
Galatians 5:22-23 lists the fruit of the Spirit---love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. This is the way You treat us! Help us to get that and to allow those attributes to flow through us towards others.
God forgive us for despising a day. Forgive us if we have dreaded a day because we expect its not going to be what we want. If we wake up in the morning dreading the fact that we have to go to work that day, or go to an appointment we are not looking forward to or doing something we don't feel like doing that day...forgive us for despising a day that You have made for us to rejoice in You in. This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! (Psalm 118:24).
Waterford:
Sing the praises of the King today!
Sing the praises of the King today!
Declare His goodness and His mercy,
and His holy attributes!
