May 25, 2013- Prayer Walk: Southeast Quadrant

Prayer focus for May 25-31, 2013
This week's church prayer is for:
Grace Missionary Church
4060 Elizabeth Lake Rd.

Thoughts & Prayers during the prayer walk:

Whatever the reasons for people originally settling in Waterford, (survival, recreation), now I pray people see the beauty of the Township and honor You.  Let the beauty of nature--the lakes, streams, plants, birds etc. all speak of Your glory and draw people closer to You.  Let there be an increase in the beautification efforts in the Township.

Father God, raise up neighborhood shepherds and strategically place them in neighborhoods throughout the Township.  Let them have a spiritual authority and anointing to bring life to their neighborhoods. Let them have favor and resources to accomplish Your purposes.

Let Your people draw closer to You with a passion and hunger and a new resolve to seek You and worship You like never before.  Let the backsliders, those who have lost their way, and the misguided return to you.

I pray for protection-spiritually and physically over this quadrant and the township as a whole.  May it be safe from harm and from deceptive influences.  Let the idols be torn down and exposed for what they really are.

Show Your power, glory and might.  Let there be healings, miracles and deliverance.  Pour out Your Spirit.  Let Your people hunger for the Word of God.  Resurrect the Word that has been spoken to people.  Let their be new preaching of Your Word and Bible Studies.

Let their be revival among the teachers and educators.  Let them turn from spiritual error and deception.  Let Christian educators be anointed and blessed with Your wisdom, skill and ideas.  Let them have strength, energy, health, resources and time.  Let them be in high demand .

Let there be a new trend among the youth.  That they not follow the crowd.  Not the usual thing, not what everyone else is doing.  That no longer is their uniqueness stemmed from rebellion, but from a desire to be holy.  That this trend draws and attracts people to Jesus Christ.  May the kids increase in knowledge and understanding of the Word of God.

Those who prey on the weak and defenseless--let their plans come to nothing.

Let there be springs, pockets, hot spots for the Spirit of God. Places of refuge and rest.  Let the churches be wellsprings.  Let there be personal revivals.  May Your people once again hunger and thirst for righteousness and true holiness.

May there be no envy, but let everyone discover their purpose and calling in life.  That they are not hopeless.  That they find their place.  Let the thing that is keeping Your people from discovering their calling go from them.  Let them be led with peace.  Not shallow or envious but discovering the Kingdom within.  The Kingdom of God is within Your people!  The enemy tries to get to that Kingdom.   May everyone discover the gifts You've given them, which begins by worshiping You!

Let there be a revelation of Your goodness!   Let us see the greatness of what You've done for us.  Let Your goodness lead us to turn and repent from sin and the dead works and weights that would lead us away from You and Your plans for us!

"How much more surely shall the blood of Christ, Who by virtue of [His] eternal Spirit...has offered Himself as an unblemished sacrifice to God, purify our consciences from dead works...to serve the..living God?"  Hebrews 9:14, The Amplified Bible.

Prayer focus for May 18-24, 2013
This week's church prayer is for:
Grace Chapel of Oakland County
2515 Williams Lake Rd. North

"...the sheep follow him for they know his voice.
And a stranger they will not follow...” John 10:4-5

Father God, I pray You give Your people the heart of a sheep.
May we follow You out of gratitude and not greed.
May we find comfort in Your voice
and peace in Your presence.
May we follow You not to be convinced by signs and wonders,
but because we already know in our heart who You are.
May we follow You not to find out why we should trust You,
but because we already do.

May our faith grow to this point.

When we have the heart of a sheep
We can truly learn You ways,
live in peace,
and offer Your life,
and all the blessings of it,
to others.

 You are
Life, love, peace, power, presence, joy, healing,
hope, goodness, mercy, grace, kindness...

May 11, 2013-Increasing Faith

Prayer focus May 11-17, 2013
This week's church prayer is for
Grace Baptist Church of Waterford
5311 Pontiac Lake Rd.

"When it goes well with the [uncompromisingly] righteous, the city rejoices..." Proverbs 11:10
"By the blessing of the influence of the upright and God's favor [because of them] the city is exalted..." Proverbs 11:11

Father God I pray that Your people-the uncompromisingly righteous-grow in faith.  That we all trust in You to a greater level than we ever have before.  Righteousness comes by faith in Jesus Christ alone but our faith in You can grow!  I pray the preaching of the Word of God increases for this is how faith comes.  And that Your people pray in the Holy Ghost for this builds up and strengthens our faith.

I pray that the faith of Your people-all those who consider themselves Christian-grows and increases continually and becomes more consistent.  That we are consistent and steadfast in our trust in You.  And that we recognize the faith that we do have--the mustard seed type of faith--that even if small can move mountains!

I thank You that Waterford will rejoice as things go well with the righteous.  I thank You that the influence of the righteous upon Waterford is a blessing and by that influence and blessing and Your favor Waterford is exalted.  I pray that as our faith grows exceedingly that we are more and more able to handle Your blessing and Your favor upon us and stay free from pride and deceptive influences.

At the very center or core, the foundation, the bedrock of the human heart,
God longs to find faith, and a heart yielded to Him.  On this kind of foundation He can build His Kingdom.

May 3, 2013- Spiritual Weapons

Prayer focus for May 3-10, 2013
This week's church prayer is for:
Four Towns United Methodist Church
6451 Cooley Lake Rd.

The Bible says that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, or flesh and blood weapons, but mighty through God, pulling down strongholds.  It also says that the God of peace will soon crush satan under our feet.

God I pray Your people do not get caught up in trying to fight for Your Kingdom simply through natural means.  That we don’t become full of anger, hate and frustration at the things going on in the world around us.  Lord, let us be filled with Your Spirit—with love, joy and peace.  Let us be filled with your wisdom, courage and truth.  Let us not feel threatened by what the enemy is doing for You always cause us to triumph in Christ!  Let us draw from Your living water and offer it to those around us, bringing life instead of death—freedom instead of bondage.  Let us not criticize and attack people but instead fight the good fight of faith using the authority You have given us in the Name of Jesus to defeat the enemy’s plans.  May we understand the power of peace and how important it is to stay close to You, filled with Your Spirit.

I pray Your people have a strong foundation of the Word of God—that we teach our children Your Word also—and that we worship You sincerely with our entire being.  Let our entire lives be acts of worship to You.

April 27, 2013 - Spring Prayer & Clean up

Prayer focus for April 27-May 3, 2013
This week's church prayer is for:
First General Baptist of Waterford
2933 Frembes Rd.

Out with the old & dead and in with the new & living!

Clean up is a slow process. It doesn’t always go as quick as we want, but we are always making progress as long as we don’t give up.  Sometimes we have to get dirty, sometimes we might get tired, sometimes we might get injured if we don’t take proper precautions.  But as we persevere the dead stuff gets removed making way for the soil to be prepared.

We can clean out the old stuff but if the soil remains hard then no seeds can be planted, no new life will grow.  But once the soil is softened then seed can be planted and new life will grow!  New life that becomes fruitful!  It’s all worth it to bring the new life and fresh growth.  We just have to keep from becoming discouraged, thinking that our efforts, our prayers, our hard work and perseverance is not worth it.

We also need to remember that it’s not about outward appearance—things just looking like they’re cleaned up when deep inside there is no life.  It’s about real life, eternal life, sincere change, growth and fruit.

It may be slow and we may need to take one battle at a time, but it’s not done in our own strength anyway.  We are strong in Him and in the power of His might.  Our own persistence in prayer and dedication to following the Lord, although necessary, won’t accomplish anything without God making it all happen.

Be encouraged and know that every prayer, every act of obedience to the Lord, every time you choose Him over the easy way and wide gate, He sees and smiles on you, and you are making a difference!

April 20, 2013- Parental Anointing

Prayer focus for April 20-26, 2013
This week's church prayer is for:
First Church of the Brethren
5064 Hatchery

Father God protect our children from ungodly images—from media that promotes things that are contrary to You and Your ways.  I pray that You release a parental anointing.  Forgive us for neglecting our children and not having respect for our position as parents.  Let the hearts of the parents turn back to the children and the children to the parents.  Let there be a release of books, literature, media, conferences, instruction and an honoring of the parental position into Your people and our culture.  Let us take seriously our commission to teach our children the Word of God.

Forgive us as parents and teachers who set our sights on other things and began to view other things as more valuable than being a parent or a teacher.  Re-ignite the children's ministry workers calling and anointing.  Come again Holy Spirit and stir us once again to be passionate towards our children.  Stir us to honor parents from the time a child is conceived.  Forgive us for not respecting and honoring the bodies You have given us.  The temple not made with hands,   Let those who value life—who are pro-life—use the energy and zeal in a renewed focus, with vision and passion to reach the children we do have, the ones who have been born.  The babies, toddlers, pre-schoolers, young children and teen, and the parents—let them put prayers, energy, time, money, resources and passion into these young children and into parents—helping them and honoring them.

Let us all honor all fathers and mothers that we, as a people, may live long on the earth.  Let us return to the Book.  Let it be our guide.  Let it be what we teach our children.  Let the foundation of the Word of God be strong in this generation.

April 13, 2013--Speak and Declare!

Prayer focus for April 13-19, 2013This week's church prayer is for:
Fellowship Baptist
6905 Roby Ln.
Father God I pray each Christian in every Waterford neighborhood begin to make declarations over their neighborhood.  Declarations from the Word of God, about the revelation of Jesus Christ, about the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ shining in their neighbors hearts, for veils to be removed, blinders to go from the minds and hearts of their neighbors.  Christians, rise up and pray and declare and release the power of the Holy Spirit into your neighborhoods!  Speak the life of God over your neighbors!
Let the churches do the same in the neighborhoods around them—speak, declare and pray the Word of God and Holy Spirit inspired prayers.
Let there be a woven network of the anointing of the Spirit, the Christian fabric of the Township becoming strong.  Let us understand the power and authority You have given to us—the dominion we have over the areas You have placed us in.
