Prayer focus for May 3-10, 2013
This week's church prayer is for:
Four Towns United Methodist Church
6451 Cooley Lake Rd.
The Bible says that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, or flesh and blood weapons, but mighty through God, pulling down strongholds. It also says that the God of peace will soon crush satan under our feet.
God I pray Your people do not get caught up in trying to fight for Your Kingdom simply through natural means. That we don’t become full of anger, hate and frustration at the things going on in the world around us. Lord, let us be filled with Your Spirit—with love, joy and peace. Let us be filled with your wisdom, courage and truth. Let us not feel threatened by what the enemy is doing for You always cause us to triumph in Christ! Let us draw from Your living water and offer it to those around us, bringing life instead of death—freedom instead of bondage. Let us not criticize and attack people but instead fight the good fight of faith using the authority You have given us in the Name of Jesus to defeat the enemy’s plans. May we understand the power of peace and how important it is to stay close to You, filled with Your Spirit.
I pray Your people have a strong foundation of the Word of God—that we teach our children Your Word also—and that we worship You sincerely with our entire being. Let our entire lives be acts of worship to You.
2 Corinthians 10:4; Romans 16:20; 2 Corinthians 2:14
