March 15, 2014 --The New and the Different

Ezra, a scribe, prayed when he heard that God's people had been unfaithful to Him and married foreign women. Others joined with him in prayer and the people repented to the point of divorcing their wives. O God I pray, like Ezra, that You show us any areas we have been unfaithful to You in. May we divorce ourselves from all unfaithfulness to You. Let us put away excessive consumption, greed, waste and ungratefulness. Let us put aside following our own paths and pursue Yours instead.

Lord I pray we don't lose our hope and expectation for new things to happen. I pray we don't allow ourselves to get stuck in a rut, thinking everything is going to go on and on the way it always has. Give us fresh hope! Give us a glimpse of what You desire to happen in our lives. Enlighten us as to how that can happen. Show us the steps we need to take.

Ezra 9-10, 2 Peter 3:4
